Jose Gaytan de Ayala

Jose joined in 2023 and works in the investment team.  

A true believer in the European Tech and Venture scene, Jose came back to the continent after completing his MBA at MIT Sloan in Boston. He is passionate about partnering with exceptional founders who have ambitious ideas with the potential to become platforms that can generate large outcomes. 

At Kinnevik, Jose spends his time scouting and evaluating potential investments in SaaS and AI across Europe and the U.S. As a mechanical engineer, he is naturally drawn to complex problems and excited to learn how technology can solve them. At the same time, Jose enjoys supporting portfolio companies Mews, TravelPerk, Pleo, Sure and Betterment, drawing from his previous experience in investing and M&A.

Prior to Kinnevik, Jose was lucky to partner with founders from Seed (NFX, as a Venture Fellow), to Series A (Kibo Ventures, as an Investment Manager), and to IPO (Credit Suisse, as an Associate).
