Role description

Do you want to work alongside the CEO of a leading European investment firm on a mission to redefine industries? Then you should apply to be Kinnevik’s next LUMA.

As LUMA, you will work closely with our CEO Georgi Ganev and the rest of the management team for one year. You will be involved in both the day-to-day operations of the business, and long-term, strategic projects across a variety of functions. During your time as LUMA you will get a unique insight into the running of an international and dynamic investment company, the possibility to build a broad professional network within the Kinnevik sphere and gain valuable skills and experiences for your future career.

The word LUMA is derived from the Latin word lumen, meaning light. LUMA was the name given to this unique position at Kinnevik when it was first launched in 1977, as Kinnevik was looking for a talented trainee to bring bright ideas to the business. Today, it means that we are looking for a person who is curious, innovative, humble, adaptable and a true team player with a genuine interest in business building.

Throughout the LUMA year, you will

  • Provide direct support to our CEO and management team
  • Receive mentorship from Kinnevik’s CEO
  • Deepen your understanding of the investment process and company valuations by working with the investment, strategy and finance teams
  • Facilitate regular management meetings, larger strategic sessions, and offsite events
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of one of our portfolio companies through a dedicated secondment

    What we are looking for in our next LUMA

    You are

    • A self-driven problem-solver who thrives on challenges
    • A curious, innovative team player
    • Equipped with strong analytical skills
    • Genuinely interested in the Kinnevik business model with the ability to quickly adapt to new scenarios
    • Known for your integrity, sociability, and excellent communication abilities
    • Fluent in written and spoken English. While Swedish proficiency is beneficial, it is not mandatory

    Your previous experience:

    • Strong academic background, preferably within business/economics or engineering
    • Currently in your final year of studies, recently graduated or with up to 3 years of post-graduation work experience
    • International experience, work experience alongside studies, or other extracurricular engagements are desirable

    Type of position

    Full time, one-year trainee program starting in summer 2026.

    Location

    Stockholm, Sweden with the opportunity to travel to our London office.
