Kinnevik: Sale of Korsnäs Packaging concluded

31 May 2006, 5:28 PM

Investment AB Kinnevik has today concluded the sale of Korsnäs Packaging to JSC Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill ("Segezha").

The sale of Korsnäs Packaging follows Korsnäs' recent acquisition of AssiDomän Cartonboard ("Frövi"). The two transactions highlight Korsnäs' strategy to focus on its successful operations within advanced highly refined board and paper products for the packaging industry.

Korsnäs Packaging, the second largest manufacturer of industrial paper sacks in Europe, produces about 850 million paper sacks annually in high-quality production facilities in nine countries. Segezha is an integrated pulp, paper and packaging business, with its main focus on sack paper production. The combination of Korsnäs Packaging and Segezha provides a strong industrial fit.
