Kinnevik supports announcement by Millicom

Investment AB Kinnevik ("Kinnevik") notes the announcement today by the Board of Directors of Millicom International Cellular S.A. (" Millicom"), the emerging market mobile telecommunications group, that Millicom has received a high number of unsolicited approaches.

As the largest shareholder in Millicom, Kinnevik supports the decision of Millicom's board to review strategic options for the company. Kinnevik remains confident in Millicom's current strategy and growth prospects and the outcome of the review may not lead to any transaction.  Further announcements will be made as appropriate.
