Transcom Worldwide opens its second Italian site in L'Aquila

Transcom Worldwide is expanding its activities in Italy with the opening of its new call centre in L'Aquila.
Transcom Worldwide, a Customer Relationship Management Company, is present in 11 countries in Europe, namely Luxembourg, Sweden, France, Denmark, Germany, Finland, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, the Netherlands, and Austria. With 16 call centres, Transcom Worldwide employs around 4300 people throughout Europe, handling presently over 3 million customer contacts monthly.
After its first opening in Milan (April 1999), Transcom intends to establish its second Italian site on August 1, 2000 in L'Aquila. According to Mr. Raju Tonapi, Regional Director, «In the first phase, the site in L'Aquila will employ 360 people in an 1800m2 high quality office facility». Transcom's implementation has had a very positive effect on the region's employment situation, and Mr. Bonanni from the Office for Investment & Development for L'Aquila said :«The choice of L'Aquila by this well-known services company shows that our region is becoming more and more interesting for the service industry». Transcom Worldwide will initially invest approximately 2 million euro in the centre.
